What are Wash Buffer Enhancers? When should I use them?

EpiCypher’s CUTANATM Wash Buffer Enhancers (EpiCypher 14-1803) are optimized additives for all CUTANATM assays that reduce sample clumping, a frequent cause of poor sequencing performance. They help maintain uniform suspension of cells/nuclei and magnetic beads, minimizing aggregation and sample loss. By improving bead resuspension and magnetic separation, these enhancers enable smoother handling and more consistent reagent access throughout the workflow, resulting in reduced technical variability and improved data quality.

Wash Buffer Enhancers are included in CUT&Tag kits from v4 (late 2025) onward, and can be purchased as a standalone for use with CUT&RUN kits, previous CUT&Tag kit versions, or DIY CUT&RUN and CUT&Tag. We recommend using them if:

  • You are working with a CUTANATM kit that includes Wash Buffer Enhancers

  • You are working with an older kit (or are performing DIY CUTANATM assays) and are experiencing sample clumping and/or poor Tapestation traces/sequencing results

  • You are a first-time user

  • You are working with a difficult cell type or target

  • You are working with primary cells
