How should freeze/thawed cells look for CUTANA™ assays?

Prev Next

To determine the quality of freeze/thawed cells for CUTANA assays, consider the following criteria:

  • Cell morphology and integrity. Do cells appear rounded with intact membranes? What is the balance between cell lysis and intact cells?

  • Total cell counts. Have you lost a substantial portion of cells during the freeze-thaw process?

  • Viability. It is normal to lose viability following freeze-thaw, as cells may be more permeable to Trypan Blue. For frozen samples, EpiCypher scientists often focus more on cellular morphology and total cell counts.

As long as you have adequate total cell numbers, and there is minimal cell lysis, you should be fine to move forward with your CUTANA assay.
